A pre-monsoon training programme on summer ploughing, seed treatment, and the use of bio-fertilisers (solid & liquid) and enriched farm yard manure was conducted for farmers of Kandachipuram, Sithathur and Venmaniathur villages in Villupuram. Conducted by the departments of Agriculture and Horticulture for the ongoing Kharif season, it explained the importance of using a variety of seeds based on geography and accessing several government schemes that support production such as availability of subsidised seeds, fertilisers, drip irrigation and farm implements. 30 beneficiaries from an existing Producer Collective participated in this one-day session under the scheme ATHMA (Agricultural Technology Management Agency) for agriculture farmers.
